I try to give Annie as many opportunities as possible to express herself on this OUR blog. I actively encourage her to share the many exciting things we do with the world. Alas it is once again to no avail…..and I can’t let events become outdated….so here goes another Jake post… Sorry everyone. I guess you’ll have to get your Annie fix from her cooking blog (which is awesome).
We had a wonderful surprise last week in that Annie’s mother Amy Barlow came to visit us! It really was a treat. Oregon came out in full force for her (it rained most of the time she was here). We took a trip to the coast that included a Veteran’s Day parade that subjected veterans to conditions that would rival those they faced during winters in the foxholes in Belgium. There was something special about the simple show of patriotism in that little coastal town. We drove along the coast and couldn’t get out of the car for more than a few seconds because the wind was howling and the rain was intense. Although we had to stay in the car, the Ocean and rocks put on a real show! It was actually pretty neat. We also ate some lovely seafood! Thanks for visiting Amy!
I also included some “day in the life” snapshots of Moby. Someone in the family has gotten into the habit of feeding him from the dinner table…I just cant figure out who it could be……….. Anyway, Moby has figured out who has the handouts for him, but now and again he gets desperate and tries to put on the show (an act he has almost mastered through the tutelage of his dog friend Bono). I am a rock….but I think he respects me for it. Someone has to keep reminding him that he is just a dog after all (albeit the cutest one I have ever seen).

THAT is funny. Be strong Jake! Don't give in like Dave!!
Annie never told me she had a cooking blog. Thanks for the heads up. I am looking forward to seeing her Thursday night!!!
I had a great time visiting. Eugene is so beautiful. Thanks for all the fun and adventure! I love your house. I'm so glad everything went well at Annie's shower - good for her. I loved being with you guys.
Love,
Mom
Yeah for visits! What is it about having company that just makes the month that much more exciting, even when they aren't there?
Sorry to have missed you this weekend. Hope things went well. We gotta meet this Moby in person! Just be sure you're throwing in a vegetable every now and then and I say just go with it.
You're not doing that dog any favors...let him sit at the table like a member of the family!
As I am sitting here reading your blog I am getting after Lane for feeding the dog while he is eating. so then I look back and he is saying uh-oh droping little morsles on the floor for the dog. what ca you say!?!
I bet Annie really enjoyed being with her mom!
That dog really is cute! How can you resist?
