In with the good out with the bad....

We have fallen out of the saddle lately on keeping our Blog fresh. You gotta keep it fresh like a lake, good fresh material flowing in to flush out the old... otherwise you get a stagnant pond...and we all know what happens in stagnant ponds... anyway, enough limnology....

Special thanks to Dad, Mom, Deb and Dangie. They were kind enough to drive 28 hours round trip to come and see us here in Oregon. They were with us four and a half days. We were able to go see some neat stuff including Silver Falls and the Coast, which were both fantastic and a much needed distraction from the rather sweltering heat the area has been experiencing. When we got home from the coast on Friday we sat around in our living room spraying water on ourselves and sitting around the fan.... we ended up going to a thrift store to get some relief.

Anyway some highlights:
The shishkabob dinner (while it was still pretty cool in the evening) barbecued everything!!
The newly appreciated Bean counting game "Bohnanza"..thanks Dan
The opening credits of the film "Dragonslayer" which is all that most of us saw before we fell asleep (although Dad, in rare stamina, watched almost the whole thing)
Almost getting to know Merlin Olsen personally... it was almost like an Elvis sighting
When Annie told several random men outside of the bathroom at silver falls that they could come in because there was plenty of room( thinking it was just us there)
The singalong on the back porch... "If I had a something... I'd something in the
mornin...."

And many others..what did I miss guys?
It was so much fun to have you up here family. We love you guys and sure were sad when you left. We'll see you soon though!!!

that waterfall is huge! That is amazing! that heat sounds rough.- but there is nothing more bonding than suffering with one-another. thanks for sharing the pictures- definite good times.

Good grief...it's about time. I expect new and repentant ways with your blogging from now on. Great to see pictures and looks like it was a wonderful visit! Are you two coming to Utah this summer?

Thanks again Jake and Annie for the great time you showed us there is your beautiful part of the country. I am bummed that I didn't geta picture of me surrounded by some of the gorgious flowers that were every where there. I came home to dry dirt where I had planted my flowers. It took us about 12 hours to get home...not bad. love you guys Mom see you soon

Beautiful pics... wow, I think I need to make a road trip to Oregon. Never been. My trip would be more like 28 days in the car round trip. Maybe next year. Miss you guys!

Hi guys.

Yes, I chopped my hair off. I like it, but will probably grow it out only because I'm lazy and poor and only get my hair cut like once or twice a year.

I would send more pics but we still don't have a camera. grrrr.
