In my mind I'm gone to Southern Utah

It is that time of year when, no matter where I am on earth (Germany, Logan, or Eugene, Oregon) My mind turns to the red rocks, narrow canyons and ephemeral streams of the central and southern portion of my home state of Utah. Memories of the time I have been blessed to experience in this incredible region of our nation come very quickly and vividly to mind. I think many of us have "that place". That place where you remember the sensation of adventure, or solitude, or freedom, or a different kind of relationship with your surroundings. Its easy to be in a state where everything around you just becomes secondary to your life's pressing goals (i.e. getting to work on time, or accomplishing your laundry list of tasks for the week, or writing your laundry list of tasks for the week, or just thinking about your laundry list of tasks....)
Annie and made a list of the places we are going to see this year. We cant make it to Southern Utah like we used to be able to, but Oregon is a wild and fascinating state, and its our goal to see as much of it as possible. Heres to the "wild places" of the future.

Jake, I know what you mean. Just a few days ago my son Logan asked to go back to Moab. We love going to Moab and Bryce and all of those fun places. It was fun to read your blog and see your little family. Have a good one!

My favorite place on earth is southern Utah and the red rock canyons. I DO plan on going there this year. However, I would also love to see the beauty of Oregon. It is everywhere. Mom
