My Duty...

There is still a certain amount of confusion about who wears the pants in the family... I guess this idiom is relatively outdated given the fact that we both usually wear pants... maybe the more relevant question is who wears the dresses... on Sunday? Anyway there are some roles that are confused in our family... wait which one is sorta messy? Which one is always looking for a competitive angle? Which one is conservative? which one is captain cautious? OK, even though I wear pants.. yes I maintain the family blog. It started out as OUR blog.. in fact, Annie started the blog. There was no intimidation, no domination, no agitation.. well there is always a bit of agitation.. anyway I keep the blog fires burning. In all of my relative womanliness, I yet lack what some Mormons call the Relief Society gene. This is the gene that causes us to instinctively think of motherly or generally generous and tender pursuits. I am not great at sharing ALL of the moments. In order to receive updates on the Jake and Annie Callister family, one must slog through a random post, wait a while.. and then, after all that, perhaps be disappointed by absence of detail and/or lack of quantity.
I am trying to make a solid effort at sharing a sliver of the bounteous joy that is ours in having these two little twinkies in our lives. I am pleased to say that any decrease in posting of late is generally because we are loving, preserving, or laughing at our children (not domestic violence, alcohol, video games, or online gambling). If I am being more honest, another significant portion of time is spent waiting for pictures and movies to upload through our sad little internet provider. And if I am being MOST honest, I have to admit that I have never seen Top Gun from start to finish.
