The inginuity of motherhood
OK. Long has it been. Blogging has just been usurped by a number of additional, arguably more important, things. I do miss it however, there is more to blog about now than ever before (classic irony right?).
Anyway Annie and Chenry and I went to Utah last weekend for Annie's grandmother's funeral (other grandmother). It was a joyous affair full of family, visiting, remembering... oh, and lots of snow. I have told everyone that the lesson I gained from the trip was that traveling with kids is easier than I thought, and that traveling with kids is harder than I thought. The actual traveling, though far from devoid of drama, was relatively easy. However, hauling kids EVERYWHERE once we got there, and tending to their needs in more of an improvisational form was pretty intense (like bad Jazz).
We were able to perform what we call the naming and blessing of our babies in Salt Lake at my parent's congregation (the congregation I grew up in). There was so much family there. It was really unforgetable. Perfection would have been having our friends from home there as well. But we were happy nonetheless.
Though the weather was not perfect, I was able to enjoy some quality sunny eastern Oregon on the way home (with Annie and Chenry sound asleep). What can I say, I am Great Basin guy! Just love that cedar and sage, and vista after vista.
Chenry are good. A little sick right now, but growing strong and bringing us tremendous joy! They are such cute little buggers. As promised the stressful and frustrating moments of those early months are already turning into fun and more sustainably challenging moments as we approach 4 MONTHS!
I would dream of sleeping more right now but... you have to sleep to do that...
