With great relief and happiness!

With relief at no longer needing to restrain our excitement, we are happy to announce that ANNIE IS PREGNANT! We have reached a point of relative security in our pregnancy (11 weeks) an now want our friends and relatives to know. If that is not exciting enough, we are expecting, and have seen with our own eyes, TWO little ones inside of Annie. Yes that means TWINS. Whew. Talk about diving in head first. This is not exactly how WE envisioned starting our family. But after some VERY prayerful decision making, its where we landed. We are 100% thrilled about it!


Annie excited about another shot of hormone.... the first one was very scary... and even worse for Annie... We did this several times a day for a while... I was very proud of Annie.


How crazy is this... Most of us don't even have ultrasounds of us as a fetus..these guys are 8 celled!!

Our 5-week ultrasound (required with fertility procedures) was obviously very exciting. We laughed and cried when we saw our two little peanuts. It only took about two hours for a measure of reality to sink in… Annie and I were looking at pictures of women pregnant with twins: Jake: “Oh Dear Heavens”, Annie: “No, no, no, there is no way…” After the initial scare and trauma, we landed back in a place of relative comfort, security and excitement!

Annie has been doing really well. She has been tired, sore, cravy, and now and again she gets minor bouts of nausea. Really not too bad. We have been tossing around some name ideas already: Jesther, Flortence, Pasquah, Jepler, Hurplon, Chawsmuqe…… like we would tell you the names we are really thinking of so soon!!

Anyway this is a very happy time for Annie and I. We feel VERY blessed. We appreciate everyone’s prayers and support throughout the last few relatively difficult years (and look forward to continued support in rearing these little buggers).

One was a little more subdued and peaceful, one was really jumpy… ergo Annie thinks one is a boy and one is a girl… Can you guess what characteristic she associated with the boy?
