Recently Annie and I attended some Halloween parties. We have sort of lamed out on dressing up for Halloween the last few years. This year we thought we needed to at least make an effort. Still we weren't interested in spending much money. We figured we would approach the process organically and went to our favorite thrift store with an open mind. the idea soon developed that we could take an exercise theme. We decided that "awkward" needed to be incorporated, (especially after finding me some uncomfortably short running shorts--and I don't mean uncomfortable for me). After finding Annie a random speed skating suit from Australia, it was sealed--- our theme would simply be: "really awkward exercise couple" the guiding question was: "If you were walking your dog in the park, and a couple jogged past you... what would it take to for that to be the most awkwardly amusing experience it could be?" We tried to achieve this within reason.
I also thought it had been too long since we posted a Moby update. This is a pic of him fully aware of how much trouble he was in after getting into the garbage (it is hard to stay mad at something so cute).

I have worn some pretty short running shorts, but non as akward as those lovely green ones. Looking at Annie in the suit, I feel intimidated as if she would kick my butt for no reason when I wasn't looking.
We miss you guys! What more can I say.
Where was the speed skating outfit from? And those shorts, yep uncomfortable for everyone you looks :)
halloween is the best for getting a chance to purchase and then wear the random stuff that can be found at thrift stores. derid came home with a thrift store costume that was supposed to be a lumber jack- but the leans were a little more elderly man than paul bunion. the flannel was too over sized. he looked- sad. so, he opted on being a mad scientist (much better derid look)- but the old man jeans were so comfy he kept them on to watch the office and 30 rock. i then made him throw them away before they became his "comfy lounge pants."
by-the-way our library has garfield halloween on dvd. do you remember that one? he and ottie go to a frieky house where a crazy old man tells them a ghost story about pirates? good times!
Speechless.
Thank you for not sitting down at the party!! Hehehehehe.
That is hilarious! Love the outfits.
You guys look great--David loved the button down shirt, tucked in, and black socks pulled up (the thing that makes it tragically funny is that we've all seen that guy in the park). Annie looks amazing--what a find!
Not everyone can pull that off!
Thanks for the laugh.
Moby is adorable as always!!
goal achieved. love it!
LOVE it!! You guys rock!!!
I feel the same way about Halloween - I love it. Your costumes are so awesome. I never seem to get my act together in time for good costumes. We know a couple who always have the best costumes. Here's a link to their blog if you want to see: http://chellemcd.blogspot.com/ Your costumes are right up there with theirs. They always consider it a huge success if they both are wearing tights.
