Another Moment...

Time for another moment. Certainly a great moment in my life was my wedding day... but since many of you were there... and to avoid being too cliche I will focus on an Annie moment of almost equal joy but much less exposure.

A little background for those who don't know the Annie and Jake E! True Hollywood story: Annie and I knew each other before her mission, we had hung out a little, chatted some, and even took a trip to Jackson Hole one day together. But nothing serious. She will still not admit it, but she was WAY too cool for me. We had both independently decided that we were "just friends." What must be understood however, is how much of a crush I had on Annie.. for obvious reasons. When Annie came home from her mission I was just starting my second year as a seasonal at Bear Lake State Park. She was beginning a summer as a Rock climbing instructor in Maryland. We spoke on the phone a few times that summer. In a random twist of fate, my college roommate Nate bumped into Annie's sister Lindsay (in Boston of all places). They got to talking and divulged to one another that Annie liked me, and that I liked Annie (in more than a "Just Friends" sort of way).

Anyway I remember the moment incredibly well. Towards the end of the summer, Nate gave me a call at the Bear Lake Rendezvous beach ranger station, and told me the news. As "moments" go that was definitely one of the greatest, both for its immediate effect on me and for the cascade it began towards my life as I know it. It defined "Cloud 9" for me... That was a great moment!!
