The Leader of the Band...

Dan Fogelberg 1951-2007

Dan Fogelberg passed away due to complications with prostate cancer sunday morning. I dont care what anybody says, the world has lost one of it's finest singer-songwriters. I dont know that enough people took him seriously. He joins the list of artists who have had a major influence on me for the better, and went before thier time. For those who need a refresher, Dan Fogelberg gave us songs like: "Longer", "Leader of the Band", and "Run for the Roses". A truly talented guy. Everyone have a listen to some Dan Fogelberg today in memory, perhaps the holiday favorite For old Lang Syne!

didn't know that he died. What a shame. He is my age, and that is too young to die. I love many of his songs. Mom

Jake, that was heart felt, so heart felt in fact that I got on Pandora to see if I could listen to him. Im still waiting for him to pop up on the play list... however your post on Mr. Fogelberg has not gone unnoticed.

That's too bad...he was great. It happens to the best of them.

Honestly he is one of my top favorite singers.
Do you remember going to his concert with me the summer before David and I got married? It was pouring rain at first, but once he got started the skies cleared and I don't think I've loved a concert more.
Poor you having to comfort me as I listened to all those great songs and cried, missing my David--so far away selling pest control. Good times!!
Merry Christmas, by the way!
